Hey all, we had a great day near St. George, Ontario on Sunday with our Golden Ticket Concert hosted by winner Jean Tucker.
We didn’t know what to expect when Jean told our manager that she was converting the show into a charity event for Huntington’s Disease.
When we got to the farm we were amazed at what was going down!
There was a silent auction with all kinds of great things to bid on supported by friends and the local business community, a pot luck supper, one of the nicest RV’s ever seen for us to use as a dressing room, and probably a couple of hundred people there to see us. It was a lot bigger than we thought our Golden Ticket show would be!
Dan and Thom opened the show with their Specktastic guitar tunes and then Jennifer Wales sang some country music and even threw a Janis Joplin tune in just to mess with us. Then The Essentials went up and did an hour long set.
It was hot and humid but Janet, Luke, Thom, Dan, and I sweated it out and delivered one of our best shows ever. What made it great was that it was all in support of a very worthy cause.
Thanks to Jean Tucker, Ross Ilett, and everyone else who helped out and thanks to everyone how came out too. A special thanks to the kind lady who could have bought all 5 of our CD’s for less than the $110 she bid on them at the silent action.
We met a lot of very kind and generous people today and we’re grateful that our Golden Ticket went to Jean and her group of amazing friends and family.
