On Sunday I attended my very first Juno Awards show. I didn't really know what to expect going in, but I was pleasantly surprised by the whole Juno experience. Unfortunately, I wasn't a nominee though...but maybe someday!
I did find it a little odd that the venue for the show was the Air Canada Center (or maybe it just feels that way because I was up in the "cheap seats"). I thought it would've been held at a more intimate venue like Massey Hall or something.
Regardless, it was a fun night and there were some excellent performances by both new and veteran Canadian artists. I thought that Drake did a great job hosting the show as well.
As a Shania Twain fan since a very young age, I was excited to see Shania being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the show. A video was compiled to honour her and highlight her accomplishments over the years. What an amazing career she has had! I can only hope for a career like that one day!
Speaking of music careers...we kicked off our east coast tour yesterday in Halifax, NS! I cant believe how friendly and hospitable everyone is, what a great vibe out here!
We are currently en route to PEI, which will be the farthest i've ever been to the east coast of Canada. After PEI, we will hit Nova Scotia again as well as New Brunswick. Then, we will head home and make a stop in Ottawa on the way.
I'm really looking forward to the rest of our gigs and I hope to be back again soon! Maybe we'll make it all the way to Newfoundland next time! :)
