I was awake at 2:00am when I saw Nicky Kitchen online.  We started chatting.

Nicky's a really fun teenager that comes to our shows on occasion.

So I decided to interview her as part of a new series of Jo3-Blogs called "Some of My Favourite People". It’s my way of only having to do 1/2 the writing of a normal blog while showing you some of the cool people we know.

JO: So Nicky, how long have you been a fan for?
NK: I've been an Essentials fan since I saw you guys at The Rockton Fair in October of 2009. I bought a CD and just couldn't wait to see you guys again.

JO: Do you have a favourite song by us and if so, what is it?
NK: Ah! Honestly, so hard to choose. I really, really love "Floating Away" from Nothing But Blue, though. I think it has the highest play count of them all.

JO: What is your favourite food?
NK: Sushi

JO: How come we’ve never gone for sushi?
NK: You tell me!

JO: I know you're a high school student, so what is your favourite subject?
NK: Definitely Musical Theatre. It only lasts a semester, but it's so much fun and really good for experience.

JO: Who is your favourite Essential besides Janet, Thom, or Dan?
NK: Does Mark count? :)~

JO: Hmmmm...let me rephrase the question. Who is your favourite bass singer in The Essentials?
NK: There's a bass singer in the Essentials?

JO: Final question...what are each of us thinking in this photo? (see below)
NK: The guy in the back with the white hair is thinking whether or not he should throw up. i'm thinking that nothing is going wrong because i am unaware of your expression... and i don't even KNOW what the heck you're thinking! maybe just hoping to freak me out... haha i have no idea.
JO: Sounds about right.
