2011 at a glance

At a glance, 2011 is shaping up to be a great year.

We’ve confirmed that we’re going to find ourselves performing on 2/3 of Canada’s coasts (we’ll be on the east coast and west coast, and thankfully not the north coast because it’s really cold up there), as well as heading back into the U.S.

We’re doing a really fun show in the U.S. actually. It’s an acappella conference. Info can be found at http://singstrong.org.

Besides performing, they also want us to give a "guest lecture" or something like that. Um...what? Us?! Ha! We’ll try our best to show new acappella groups just starting out, by example, that regardless of how wonderfully limited your talents are, you too can make it in show business! ;)

This show will be a slight departure from our regular show because we normally add drums, tambourines, and other little percussive knick-knacks to our voices. At this show they don’t want us to use our drums or to even think about a shuffle beat on a pair of maracas.

Enter Luke Stapleton stage left.

Luke is our very talented hired gun / vocal percussionist / beatboxer when we need one. His website can be found at http://www.humanrecord.ca/. Luke will be joining us as we head down to perform. Luke and his wife Brianne just had a baby so we’re happy that they were able to make arrangements to have Luke join us! Thanks guys.

The other great thing about 2011 is that it’s the year before 2012.

We’ll be busy prepping for our 2012 album release. We have some neat concepts and plans, so hopefully we’ll be able to shape it as we envision it and create another enjoyable listening experience for you!

Speaking of recording, at this moment, we’re at Dan’s home studio singing our hearts out.

The victim? "On Broadway" originally by The Drifters who we met at the CNE this past September.

We actually met Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons and had a long jam session with them many moons ago which inspired us to do "Oh What A Night!". That song has since become kinda one of our 'trademark' songs, so maybe Broadway will be next.

And, Janet is nailing the lead on this song today, just like she does in the live show. She’s singing with such passion and energy that's definitely going to show when you hear it.

Peace,

Janet

PS – just kidding...Janet didn’t write this update, wouldn’t it be funny and sadly egotistical if she personally wrote "Janet is nailing the lead on this song" herself? It’s Jo3.

Peace,

Jo3 (on behalf of Thom, Dan, and Janet)
