Acappella in October has No Leg Up

We're about to go to radio with Floating Away from Nothing But Blue.

After analyzing lyrics, contemplating grooves, considering a whole bunch of other factors, drinking a few beer (whiskey neat for Janet) and then discussing the problem of how best to divert an asteroid if one veers towards earth, we chose Floating Away to hit radio with.

It's tough to pick just one.

And you can't just push the whole album if that's what you were thinking. Radio stations will fire back with, "Hit us with your best shot. Which one should we listen to?", and rightly so - they have a lot of music to consider. They're our tunes so we should know which best foot to put forward.

We had some luck with our Christmas album, Remember December. It was played from coast-to-coast but, not surprisingly, on Boxing Day the fun stopped like Lionel Hutz at a car crash.

This may be a little more difficult to conquer. Acappella and Christmas marry well. Acappella in October has no leg up.

So, we're about to undergo what could be the most discouraging part of the album journey, and I thought I'd reveal to you one of the reasons why we keep going at times like this.

Tada! ...It's you!!

Yes, you!

Our fans.

Short for fanatic, which is true to varying degrees depending on the person.

So, I'm going to let you guys blog this time.

I'm going to cut and paste some snippets of email we've received since the album release to show you the kind of GREAT people we have supporting us.

Without you, seriously, we wouldn't be doing this. We'd a hung up the pitchpipe years ago.

You can easily go on our facebook group and read the wonderful feedback we get, but these are emails that came into our private inbox which you normally wouldn't see (and for that reason, the names have been deleted to protect the innocent).

"Just wanted to thank you for an awesome show on Saturday.......the kids had to be literally dragged from the house away from you-tube etc....but they were thrilled to hear you"

"Thanks so much for your CD teaser!! The songs sound WONDERFUL!! Can't wait to hear the CD in its entirety!!"

"finally got to hear your new cd. All I can say is "WOW'. IT'S GREAT, I love it, you are awesome."

"Love your music, keep up the good work."

"this will play on the radio!!! The blend is fantastic."

(from a radio person, of course) "I love the new CD...and I opened up my radio programme with your version of 'Takin' It To The Streets'."

(from another radio person) "You grabbed me with the first track. In fact, I've scheduled it for Saturday's show as the opening music cut."

"We had a wonderful time! Your show gets better every time I see you."

"I have seen you lots and YOU ALL HAVE YOUR GROOVE GOING ON. AWESOME. Fabulous new CD. I loved it."

See what we mean?

Thank you for keeping us going!

We have the best fans in the world and I don't care what anybody else says about you. ;)

PS – if you're wondering about the asteroid thing, everyone voted in favour of chemical rockets, except Thom who abstained
